With so much venom, vitriol and vengeance emanating from the White House, it is urgent for us, more so than ever, to model love and kindness. Check in with people you haven’t heard from in a while and just let them know you’re thinking about them. Do something for a friend that may be inconvenient. Be a good listener without jumping in with your own story. Teach your kids that kindness is strength. And most important, make sure your progeny understand that people who are different from them, or have views other than theirs are not “the enemy.”

And one last reminder: Adolph Hitler was not given power by military force. He was elected by many well meaning people who “liked his policies.”
